Proudly led by brothers Trevor and Walker Munce, fifth-generation entrepreneurs in the city of Sioux Falls.
Trevor Munce started the Sioux Falls Crane & Hoist in 1995. Trevor’s brother, Walker Munce, joined the company in 2006 and brought with him expertise in the rigging of machinery. Together, they have pooled their talents and grown the company to where it is today.
In June of 2013, we purchased the building where we are now located.
Trevor Munce
Trevor started working at a young age. His first job was at Burger King but quickly grew into more skilled positions such as a forklift driver at BPI and at Austad’s as head of shipping and inventory.
Trevor graduated high school in 1988 and went on to work for Egger Steel from 1988-1992, where he was first exposed to working around overhead cranes. He went on to work for Dakota Riggers from 1992–1995 as an overhead crane inspector. In 1995, he took the necessary courses to become a certified crane inspector with Crane Institute of America, in Sanford, Florida.
Walker Munce
Walker graduated from High School in 1979 and went to work for Munce Bros through 1987. His primary duties consisted of moving household goods and heavy machinery.
He worked alongside his father, Bill, for his grandfather, Howard.
In 1987 the business was sold to Parker Transfer & they worked for them until 1989, continuing moving household goods.
In 1989 he went to work for Jerke Construction Co, doing rigging. He remained there until 2006.
